Reading List: This One Is For The Boys

0-boyreading

After talking with many of my fashion guy friends, we’ve all agreed that there aren’t many good men’s fashion blogs out there. Maybe it’s because there are mostly females in fashion, or maybe guys just aren’t interested in reading blogs. (Please leave comments, please tell me I’m wrong!) However, with some help and a lot of searching, I’ve found a few of what I consider to be the best men’s blogs on the web.

Louis Vuitton’s Latest: Where In The World Is The Selby?

0-thumb

Don’t know about you, but growing up I was completely captivated by a little television show called “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” Oh, how I dreamed of playing detective, being tapped to track the show’s elusive and thieving villainess around the globe and ultimately earn the right to go to the map. Well, my shot at educational game show stardom might have come and gone, but I couldn’t help but wax nostalgic over Louis Vuitton‘s latest “Where in the World” inspired collaboration with Todd Selby.

PHOTOS: Martha Stewart Used To Model For Chanel!

Martha Stewart Profile

Consider our minds blown and apologies if we’re way late to the party, but we had absolutely no idea that Martha Stewart used to be a model. It took Racked’s coverage of Andre Leon Talley’s appearance on her show this morning to open our eyes. Naturally, we did some digging (read: google searching) and found these amazing images of a very svelte and very young Stewart. We’re in love.

Underage Icons: 6 Kids That Prove Age Is Just A Number

0-kidsbig

Remember the good old days when being a kid meant playing in the dirt and swinging on the swings — when your parents thought you were a prodigy when you rolled a ball of Playdough into something resembling a three-legged dog and you thought all things stylish were purchased at the Limited Too? Well, childhood it ain’t what it used to be it seems like everyday there’s a new pre-pubescent prodigy making us twenty-something adults look like complete slackers. Curious as to who was going to be stealing our jobs before they’re legal, we did a little digging and unearthed a few youth quakers who seem bent on shaking things up.

Is Luxury Auction Site OohILove Selling Fake Bags?

0-oohilove

Louis Vuitton once again topped Millward Brown Optimor’s ranking of the most valuable luxury brands this year. And at the American Express Publishing Summit in Las Vegas this week, Louis Vuitton North America’s President and CEO Daniel Lalonde stressed that one of the reasons for the brand’s success through the recession was because Louis Vuitton never goes on sale. But when we asked Lalonde how Louis Vuitton bags ended up on luxury auction website OohILove.com, he said they must be fakes.

Picture-2

V Magazine recently sat down with the actress for next month’s issue to talk about her newest film, slated for the silver screen in June 2010. I Am Love, directed by Luca Guadagnino, is a “labor of love” that Swinton has apparently been working on for over a decade. And in true Swinton manner, the character is not only a powerful woman, but a fashionable one.

Lindsay Lohan’s Bloody And Trigger Happy Photo Shoot

0-lohan

Despite her constantly erratic behavior, it’s difficult to let go of our love for Lindsay Lohan. Just when we think she’s hit rock bottom, she does something sort of awesome that makes us sit back and wonder if we could save her — save her talent, get her to be the fashion icon and/or movie star that we know she could be. Exhibit A: This shoot with photographer Tyler Shields

0-mcq

We might still be suffering from the effects of nostalgia after seeing Hole last night at New York City’s Terminal 5, but boy are we loving Alexander McQueen’s Fall collection for McQ. Featuring no shortage of lace-up boots; a motley crew of mixed plaids, stripes, patterns and patches; and the Generation X staple flowy, floral dress, this collection takes us right back to when Kurt and Courtney reigned supreme and the Discman on which we played “Pretty On The Inside” was the hot new musical device on the block. Rock on.

7 Oldies Making A Very Stylish Comeback

0-bettywhite

Pardon us for arriving late to the party, but when did Betty White become the hottest actress in Hollywood? Of course, we love a good comeback as much as anyone who teared up when Britney shaved her head, but lately seems there’s just no stopping the 88-year old. And for that matter, old things in general. Not that we’re bemoaning the flashback fad. Quite the contrary! Inspired by the Betty’s SNL-endorsed second coming, we’ve done some digging and rounded up a few of our favorite fashion-forward comebacks. Sure these PTPT’s (Past Their Prime Things) have been around the block, but what was that about old being the new black?

Dore also reveals that, in spite of the perks, it’s not all sunshine and air-kisses when it comes to covering the shows.
