We could write a book on ways to help make your feet not hurt after hours of wearing a great pair of 5-inch heels, but the truth is, heels hurt. No matter what. What’s a heel loving fashionista to do? Shockingly, some women are taking to the knife to make their feet more high heel friendly.
Remember those oddly photoshopped nude pictures of Lara Stone, supposedly shot for French Playboy? Apparently they weren’t authorized by the model.
As if we needed a reason to love Joe Zee more. In between filming The City, creative directing one of our favorite magazines, and tweeting up a storm, Zee managed to find the time to don one of Karl Lagerfeld‘s crazy fur suits from his F/W 2011 collection and wander around New York City in the middle of a heat wave. We love a fashion editor who can laugh at themselves.
Over the past few months, we’ve reported frequently on Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom. The couple has gone from fighting over shoes to getting engaged to being married in a flash. And now, in a romance that seems to be stuck on fast forward, news has surfaced that Kerr is pregnant.
Usually the rebound is more successful than the dreaded ex, or at the very least, better looking. Which is why we were shocked — to say the least — to find out that Lorenzo and Lance Bass had been canoodling. No offense to Lance, but we think Lorenzo could do just a bit better than a washed up boy bander with frosted tips.
With fall collections slowly but surely making their way into boutiques—rejoice!—it is time to begin spotlighting my favorite seasonal picks…starting with excessories (duh). First up is today’s TZR-approved cuff from young jewelry designer, Gaia Repossi, as part of her collection for Alexander Wang’s F/W ’10 Runway. It is everything.
It’s a dinner that will go down in history. A meeting of two of the most powerful people in the United States, nay, the world. According to WWD, fashion’s most infamous editrix, Anna Wintour, will be hosting a dinner for President Barack Obama in her home Wednesday night. And for those on the intensely guarded guest list, entry comes at the bargain price of $30,400 a head.
It seems as though W Magazine‘s editor in chief Stefano Tonchi might be having a little Vogue envy. When last year’s The September Issue hit theaters, audiences got an inside look at the making of the fashion bible that is Vogue’s biggest, and most important issue of the year. And according to The Cut, Stefano wants to share W‘s story as well.
We have to admit, this wedding dress guessing game is getting exhausting. First it was all about Vera Wang. Then the New York Times‘ White House correspondent told everyone that Chelsea Clinton’s bridal attire was definitely in the more than capable hands of Oscar de la Renta. And now photos have surfaced of Chelsea arriving at Vera Wang’s New York showroom Tuesday afternoon. What does it all mean? We have a theory.
Janice Dickinson is on one heck of a press binge right now. A few weeks ago, Dickinson announced she’d be joining the cast of Celebrity Rehab — which includes such luminaries as Jason Wahler — and now she’s posed naked in a magazine we’ve never heard of in honor of her post-surgery 55-year-old figure. The [...]
At tonight’s London premiere of The A Team, Jessica Biel opted for a sheer scarlet red gown which she paired with some seriously messy hair and a pale pink pout. We love the dress — and the fact that she had the guts to wear what is essentially a one piece bathing suit with a see-through dress on top — but can’t help but think her hair looks like someone rubbed a balloon all over it. What say you?
Drew Barrymore is a busy bee — so busy that she’s apparently been wearing the same pair of jeans for a very, very long time.
Would you walk a runway that’s end is nowhere to be seen? For 220 models scheduled to take part in Copenhagen Fashion Week, answering “no” is not an option. Within the week of August 11-15, Copenhagen will boast what’s called the “World’s Greatest Catwalk” for a fashion show that will take place on Saturday, August 14, on the pedestrian street of Strøget. Models will have to pack a pair of heavy-duty Dr. Scholls insoles for their trip, because the “greatest catwalk” is a mile long!
As the summer season winds down and we shift our gears to fall—I can hardly wait either!—I know many of you will be inclined to store away your colorful accessories and shift toward a darker palette. However, I want everyone to stop and rethink this protocol during the upcoming season…why not view your vibrant add-ons as a year-round regime? Matthew Williamson shows us how it’s done with the multi-hued Circle Lace Strip Scarf from his Autumn Collection.
News has come out that Essence magazine, a Time Inc glossy aimed at black women, has hired a new fashion director after being on the hunt to fill the position for months. Problem is, the new fashion director is white.
What’s going to happen to the mystery and allure of being a fashion designer in an age when everyone wants to know everything about everyone else?
We thank our lucky stars that social media savvy style stars like Kelly Cutrone and Andre Leon Talley have Twitter accounts. But truth be told, too often the fashion industry shies away from such colloquial things. Which is why we felt it necessary to create a wish list — or rather, a begging list — of people in the fashion world we wish would join Twitter. We’ve even offered account name suggestions and tweet examples! Could we have made it any easier?
Our senior editor Ruthie Friedlander does more before 9 am than most bloggers do all day. This morning — while the rest of us were sputtering around in our pajamas trying to make coffee happen — Ruthie was up talking shoes on The Early Show.
