At this weekend’s Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography in France, designer Yohji Yamamoto announced that he’s directing his first ever feature film.
Warning: bag porn ahead.
This episode was the funniest and most true installment of Girls yet. Dunham & Co. spent the first two episodes laying groundwork, and now that we know the ladies (yes, Jessa, you too are one of “the Ladies”), we can really get down to the funny business. One conversation I’ve had a lot in recent weeks is whether or not Girls is actually a comedy, which is something that I didn’t actually think was up for debate. Is something not a comedy simply because it devoted an entire episode to a would-be abortion? Please. It may be a layered, complicated comedy, a comedy shot through with genuine pathos and anxiety and even sadness, but it is a comedy nonetheless.
Kirsten Dunst isn’t just a Hollywood veteran, she’s a bona fide style star. Her first kiss was with Brad Pitt in Interview With the Vampire at age 10, and since that enviable breakout role, she’s starred in indie cult hits like The Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette and mega blockbusters like Bring It On and Spider-Man. More than that, she’s got a serious knack for downtown cool-meets-polished femininity on and off the silver screen — and she’s certainly not afraid to take some bold outfit risks. From her go-to Rodarte frocks and Chanel Couture gowns to playful Dolce & Gabbana wares and Christian Lacroix numbers, we’re celebrating Kirsten’s 30th birthday with 30 of her best and most quirky red-carpet ensembles. Click through to see how she’s earned her status as one eclectic style setter.
Chloë Sevigny is a pretty much the coolest chick we wish we knew, so we didn’t expect her home — which contains her amazing closet — to be anything short of awesome.
Adrienne Bailon — she of the world’s worst wardrobe malfunction — may also have donned the world’s worst swimsuit.
While we celebrated Prince William and Kate Middleton’s one-year anniversary on Sunday, the duo spent part of their weekend at a friend’s wedding in Suffolk. As we have come to expect from the Duchess, she recycled several pieces from her wardrobe to create an entirely new look.
Model-turned-actress Brooklyn Decker is totally on-trend in a sick Peter Pilotto top and skirt for the June cover of Flare. Inside the issue, Decker dons summer-y wares by Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra, and Stella McCartney.
We got a sneak peek at Rihanna‘s latest music video over the weekend, and now the pop star has debuted “Where Have You Been” in its entirety. We, of course, would like to discuss what she’s wearing.
We know Cameron Diaz likes to show off her killer figure — and we’re cool with that — but we’re definitely not feeling her Harper’s Bazaar UK cover.
Lucky is hosting its very first FABB (Fashion and Beauty Blog) West conference today in Los Angeles. They’ve rounded up an impressive list of participants, and we’re excited to be able to bring you the livestream.
It’s nearly May, but the weather feels more like March. What does a girl have to do to get some sun around here? Cue the spring-ready floral jackets, please.
In today’s installment of unexpected collaborations, J.C. Penney and Cosmopolitan are working on a line of accessories and lingerie, set to launch this fall. Naturally.
And the Kimye publicity stunts continue!
While J Crew has been gaining momentum over the last decade as a contemporary retail force to be reckoned with, sales at the Gap have been steadily lagging. All is not lost for the struggling company, however, if we are to believe the latest report from the New York Times.
Score one for maturity!
Before she was busy intimidating talk show hosts, guzzling protein shakes, and popping out babies, an 18-year-old Adriana Lima walked her first show for Victoria’s Secret. Apparently she even told the president of the company that the occasion marked “her first day as a woman.”
You already know Jenna Lyons is a busy, busy lady. As president and executive creative director of J Crew she is responsible for overseeing an ever-growing empire of chambray shirts, sequined pants, and featherlight cashmere. She has also paid a visit to the White House – but not without some minor complications.
