When retailers get invaded by bed bugs, it’s a pretty gross situation. But when retailers try to hide the fact, then it’s just a downward spiral. Well, that’s exactly what happened to the Urban Outfitters store in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, and the retailer got caught.
Kate, is that you?
You already know that H.R.H. Duchess of Cambridge (otherwise known as Kate Middleton) topped Vanity Fair‘s storied International Best-Dressed List this year, earning her a coveted spot on the cover of the glossy’s September issue. But who else made the cut?
Ryan Lochte is undeniably the hottest Olympic swimmer of the Games. The guy has the most insane body ever, rocked those silly Ralph Lauren outfits, wore an American flag grill on the podium, stole our hearts in a “Call Me, Maybe” parody, and is also indirectly involved in another hilarious video. He is also very single, and definitely ready to mingle.
The other day we had a chat with Leandra Medine of Man Repeller about the window display she made for Maje. The conversation left us wondering: Just how did she manage to turn her blog into her livelihood?
Do you know how to tie a bow tie? Unfortunately, even twelve years of uniform-mandated Half Windsors failed to teach us this particular skill. Thank goodness we have Bill Nye the Science Guy here to help us out.
Rachel Weisz was the epitome of minimalist chic at the premiere of The Bourne Legacy in New York last night. She wore cool see-through shoes, understated jewelry, and a fitted black dress from Raf Simons‘s debut Christian Dior Couture show — making Weisz the second person to wear a piece from the collection on the red carpet. That lucky, lucky girl.
Unsurprisingly, Kate Middleton has topped Vanity Fair‘s International Best-Dressed List. And as such, she’s landed on the mag’s September cover.
Shiny happy (royal) people laughing.
The nominees for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards are out, and along with the usual Top 40 teen picks — One Direction, Maroon 5, Coldplay — are a surprising number of people and things you might have actually liked this year.
Colored denim is definitely the jean du jour, so for today’s Ways to Wear, we styled a pair of bright yellow Rag & Bone jeans three chic ways. We’ve spotted colored denim on some of our favorite style setters, like Rachel Bilson and Zoe Saldana, and seen this vibrant canary hue grace the runways at Proenza Schouler and Jason Wu — now we’re heading to Barneys New York in Beverly Hills to try out the trend for ourselves. Whether you’re looking for the perfect transitional outfit or feeling daring enough to try bright on bright, we hope these outfits inspire you to scoop up some colored denim for your own look now.
Well, this is an interesting plot twist.
The New York Post reports this morning that Erica Wang, whom Todd English famously left at the altar back in 2009, was caught stealing $6,000 worth of merchandise from the Ralph Lauren Polo store where she worked — and confessed to stealing $46,000 worth of even more clothing.
We’ve already seen Karlie Kloss on the cover of Vogue Japan’s September issue, but now it’s time for the U.S. September covers to start rolling in. And the first is:
Posh Spice Victoria Beckham on the cover of Glamour!
We were so enamored with Kate Middleton‘s sleek Roksanda Ilincic frock and chic updo at the Creative Industries Reception that we barely noticed others at the event. Fancy Brits like Stella McCartney, Lily Cole, and Fearne Cotton hung out with Kate, and totally made us jealous. While the Duchess obviously wins best dressed, who came in at a close second?
But in all seriousness, call us, Lochte?

A few days ago we had the good fortune of running into the uber-friendly Jonathan Adler at the eBay Holiday Collective showroom. We got to “bro down” (his words) for a bit and chat, and first off, we had to hear all about the collection.
