Doutzen Kroes is on the cover of April’s Vogue Paris — and while Kroes is always a knockout, we’re not sure we’re feeling the vibe of this particular photo.
John Galliano is back in the headlines, if only for a moment.
In an announcement that surprised just about everyone this morning, Barneys vice president and fashion director Amanda Brooks has resigned.
Missed your chance seeing The Muppets on the big screen? Luckily, our favorite furry and fuzzy friends will soon be available on Blu-ray and DVD. And to promote the release, the grand dame herself, Miss Piggy has been making her rounds on the daytime television circuit.
Christmas has come early for some of New York’s finest designers. The nominees and special honorees for the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards were announced last night at the studio of CFDA president, Diane von Furstenberg. The annual awards gala will take place on June 4 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, and this year should be an especially wild party since it marks the CFDA’s 50th anniversary.
News flash: Jessica Simpson is still pregnant. This fact was made abundantly clear as the former pop star and reality TV judge teetered onto The Tonight Show stage last night in 6-inch heels.
Madonna has become the latest celeb to “weigh in” on a Karl Lagerfeld faux pas.
Just when you thought all the fashion week action was over, Toronto Fashion Week kicked off yesterday. Billed as the second largest fashion week in North America, the size of the event is not actually what’s snagging headlines.
Don’t get us wrong — we like the smoky singer’s style and applaud her for maintaining her integrity amid all the criticism surrounding her music. And while much of Lana Del Rey’s ‘retro soul siren meets modern day diva’ works for us, we just cannot get on board with those nails.
We already love her for her luxuriously feminine confections, so we’re guessing it won’t be too hard to fall for Vera Wang’s first color cosmetics line, which she’ll be debuting exclusively for Kohl’s.
It’s been barely a month since her untimely death, but Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, is making plans to sever all ties with her father, Bobby Brown.
Come on, who doesn’t love Jonah Hill?
We were planning on having a relaxing Sunday, but those plans were promptly dashed as soon as this story dropped into our lap. After six months of nonstop lolly-gagging (we hate the word “canoodling”), Ryan Gosling and his equally gorgeous partner Eva Mendes have decided to spend some time apart. Though the decision, reports say, was actually made by Gosling who apparently told friends of the couple he needed some space for “time to think”.
The buzz is still going strong about alleged new beaus pop star Katy Perry and male model Baptiste Giabiconi. According to a Page Six report the two knockouts met after being seated next to each other at last week’s Chanel runway show during Paris Fashion Week. “He was sitting next to her at the show,” a source said. “Then we all had dinner the other night, they were holding hands and looking cozy, and now they are inseparable.”
Here’s a tasty little tidbit to kick off your Saturday night. In the latest installment of Jean Paul Gaultier’s weirdo video series (as part his new role as the Creative Director at Diet Coke), JPG once again stars as himself as “The Serial Designer”.
Finally, a story about some our favorite women all in one room together! Oprah Winfrey was honored with the ‘Lifetime Leadership’ award at last night’s DVF awards, presented by the legendary designer herself. “She is the most formidable person I have ever met in my life,” the designer and humanitarian said of Winfrey at the event, held last night at the United Nations. “What is extraordinary about Oprah is that she has done so much and yet she is still a little girl. She is still very pure and you can make her cry and laugh so quickly.”
It may still be March, but you’re gonna want to crank up the AC after watching Rihanna roll around in her skivvies in the latest ads for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans. The pop star has been the face of the brand since last July, steaming up the billboards and even occasionally trying her hand at design.
Don’t have enough Whitney Port in your life yet? Then good news! The former Hills star turned industry darling turned designer has just announced she will be launching a new lower-priced line, WE by Whitney Eve. Port has been enjoying a comfortable cushion of success with her first apparel line, Whitney Eve, which she launched in 2008. Last season she even took to the runway and held her first official show during New York Fashion Week Fall ’12.
Vogue Italia’s latest cover story, shot by famed photog Steven Meisel titled “Haute Mess”, sparked a brushfire of discussion last week over whether or the not the spread was in fact racist. Models done up in dramatic hairdo’s, candy-colored makeup, and elaborate nail art were shot draped in diner booths and surrounded by fast food. The set up and styling caused many to wonder if the story was intentionally poking fun at African American and Latino culture.
There’s no better way to kick off your weekend than with a nice, warm helping of crazy. My Crazy Obsession that is, the TLC show that people love to hate almost as much as Hoarders. HuffPoTV gives us a sneak peek of who next week’s episode will spotlight — a woman named Doris who prefers to live her life in the 1950′s. Well, her a simulated version of them at least. Her furniture is covered in plastic, her hair is perfectly coiffed and she wears stockings and full skirts ever day. Not exactly Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
