Dear Styleite: I just got invited last minute to a daytime semi-formal wedding at a country club. What do I wear? It’s going to be outside and hot so I don’t want to be a sweaty mess but I also don’t want to be a hooch!
While we love fashion, we often wonder what on earth guys think of all the crazy trends girls will wear in the name of style. For example, one of our guy friends consistently asks, “WTF are those?” when we wear harem pants. In order to get to the bottom of this male versus female sartorial debate, we invited writer, blogger, and all around guy’s guy Nick Kreiss to give us honest, gut reactions to the following trends.

If sandals and tights are wrong, I don’t want to be right. I love tights, probably far too much. I often push the boundaries with tights to the point where people ask, “Aren’t you hot?” These people do not understand the undying love I have with these stretchy and flattering pieces of material. But that is neither here not there. Much like all trends, there is a will and way to wear this look.
Dear Styleite: I’m a guy who wants to dress a little cooler, but most trendier styles seem to be designed for super skinny hipster kids. I tuck my neckties into my pants — always have and probably always will. It’s a neat tuck, extending only about an inch below the waistline. Assuming it’s not the worst offense imaginable, give me a good style-savvy retort to use when people question it.
I am a less than stylish guy and I scored a date with a super fly fashionista, for friday, any quick tips on how to make me look fashionable fast?
