Adam Levine’s Fragrance Ad Looks Like A Spoof But Is Actually Real
Remember Lizzy Caplan’s hilarious fashion film parody? Well she’s just released an equally funny sequel, starring Adam Levine as a celebrity who’s just put his name to a fragrance. And this time (spoiler alert!), at around the 00:12 mark you start laughing while crying while lamenting the state of the human race as you realize this thing is ACTUALLY REAL.
Dude does not get off to a good start when he
appears on screen stunt-skids into the frame on a big masculine motorcycle, claiming “I typically hate celebrity fragrances.” This is the point where he should just take his shirt off and stop talking, but instead he goes on to stumble through more sentences like Zoolander through a mining cave.
Highlights include him stutteringly professesing, “It goes along with a really big part of who I am, and so I don’t really feel insecure… About where, where I definitely had my reservations and my apprehension” like he definitely has a few reservations and apprehensions. And this part is the BEST: “I like to feel like, whether you’re writing a song, or wearing a shirt or walking down the street, whatever it is you’re doing – it kind of feels good to feel like you’re doing it in a different way.”
Unfortunately we aren’t given much information about what the scent smells like, but rest assured it looks “classic and elegant” and that “you could actually have it on your counter and not have it be offensive.” It’s available where all fine scents are sold, so just look for the bottle that isn’t emblazoned with the F word or radiating top notes of fright and panic, then watch the vid over on People StyleWatch.
