PHOTO: Anna Dello Russo’s Perfume Ad Lacks Perspective
While Anna Dello Russo‘s video for her new fragrance made our day, the ad campaign has made our week. Behold: ADR in a cowboy hat, photographed by Juergen Teller. For real.
Anna definitely has a thing for the photog, who shot her for the November issue of W. And just like the W spread and the fragrance’s video, the ad campaign is staged in her swanky digs. In the ad she wears a gold Moschino getup and, yes, a black cowboy hat. The photo is classic Juergen — over-exposed and oddly startling.
We’re confused by the photo, however. Behind Anna are shelves of shoes, which seemingly lead into the apartment’s sitting area. But how is Anna’s hand touching that black door that is several feet away from her? At first we thought she may be pressing her hand against a mirror that reflects an image of her apartment, but that can’t be right since Anna herself is not reflected. This is seriously bugging us out. Photoshop disaster, anyone?
