The Haircut That Could: Breaking The Guinness World Record
Hey, it’s Earth Month! It’s OK if you haven’t been hugging any trees lately. Aveda is proverbially hugging trees all over the world. And by “hugging trees” we mean “cutting hair for clean water.”
On Earth Day (Tomorrow, Monday, April 22) the nature-inspired brand hopes to set the Guinness World Record for the most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period with something called a “global cut-a-thon.” That’s a lot of hair cutting. More than that, here’s a list of Aveda Earth Month events all over the world.
From Tokyo to Sydney, Moscow to London, New York, and Los Angeles, Aveda stylists are volunteering their magic hands by offering haircuts in return for a donation to the Aveda Earth Month Campaign. The goal? To raise $5 million for clean water. We’re pretty obsessed with how adorable this video is–and at the same time, impressed with how clear the point comes across: People still need clean water.
