Christian Dior Wants To Brand Your Eyeballs

Christian Dior is taking your eyes one step past designer frames.  Now, you can get contact lenses with the ‘CD’ logo etched in alongside gold flakes…because everyone knows nothing brings out your inner vampire like unnatural eye colors.

The contacts have a ‘CD’ logo etched on the left side and a gold strip covering the entire right side. There’s also what appears to be a black rim surrounding the circumference of the contact. And the clumpy mascara on the eyelashes belonging to the model’s eye cannot go unmentioned — Christian Dior could have touched that up a bit more, in our opinion.

We’re all for non-permanent ways of playing around with your look — temporary tattoos , wacky nail polish colors — but branding your eye ball? We think that’s going a bit too far. Let the madness begin of designer contacts! Gucci logos, interlocking C’s — a la Chanel, dare we mention Louis Vuitton? Creepy.

I’ve written a blog in reply to this post called “When Branding Gets out of Hand” – Which is what my sentiment is with the branded contact lenses. What next, huh?

I’m not advertising by the way, I just wanted to give my stance a proper outlet as I think this is an issue that deserves a proper response.

Yeah this is beyond weird, beyond creepy, and way past invasive branding. Sorry Dior, but what were you thinking?
    Just a thought.
