Nail polish is one of my favorite things. I change my color about once a week, and rarely go neutral. I like darks and brights, and switching it up is important to me! I rarely do the purple thing (unless it’s super dark), because it’s hard to find a really good purple that isn’t pastel. Well, not anymore. Say hello to your new favorite purple polish, The Renaissance by Duri.
Don’t let the bottle or “light violet” description fool you — the color dries into a much more vibrant, saturated hue. For someone who doesn’t like their purples too sweet (it’s a pretty v. cool thing), this is the perfect color. And at $5 a pop, it’s hard not to indulge in this newly released shade. (By the way, Verena also tried it out, and the other ladies in our office commented on both of our cool manis.)
As far as lasting power is concerned, I’m a firm believer that nail polish chips are a function of many things in addition to the polish itself (type of base and top coats used, your skill and/or that of your manicurist, drying time, etc.). That said, I went a solid 9 days without any noticeable chips. Impressive!
