Gillette Towels Offer A Lesson In Self-Depilation

If Gillette‘s goal was to get people’s tongues wagging about hair removal, mission accomplished. BBDO, the creative agency that handles Gillette’s advertising, placed thousands of towels featuring outlines of male and female bodies (with cutouts conveniently placed over the pubic areas) on grassy fields all over Germany. Get it? Mow your lawns? Specifically with convenient Gillette Venus and Fusion razor blades and other assorted products? Where do they come up with this stuff?

Copyranter reports that the stunt won the agency a Cannes Bronze Lion for “best use of ambient media, small scale.” We, on the other hand, would gladly award the agency the “Award in honor of making Justin and Julia forget about their other work commitments for half an hour and talk about personal depilation.” It comes with a lovely plaque.

Take a look at the towels below, and let us know if they make you want to do any, um, maintenance.
