Gwen Stefani Dreams Up Punk-Themed Talons for OPI
If ever there was woman to inspire manicure envy, it’s Gwen Stefani. Much to our delight, we’ll no longer have to go hunting for her signature cherry red polish or geometric nail ice. The singer-cum-designer is launching a new seven-piece collection with OPI, in which she’ll incorporate her signature mix of street and couture flavors in the form of punk-inspired crème and glitter hues, mirrored chrome, Swarovski embellishment, and more.
“With her expertise as a singer, songwriter and designer, who better to collaborate with than Gwen Stefani?” said OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “Known for her trademark red lips, bold eye makeup and nail art, Gwen uses beauty to accessorize her style.”
While the polishes already have us reaching for our nail files, we’re also taking much amusement in the names of each color (p.s. don’t we all think we’d be brilliant at coming up with fun names?) So far we’ve learned of “Over & Over A-Gwen,” a red inspired by her signature lipcolor (swoon!), “Push and Shove,” the ultimate chrome, “In True Stefani Fashion,” a glitter shade that had us at Stefani, and last, but certainly not least, “Lay Down That Base,” which does exactly what its name suggests. In addition, there will be a box set with metallic studs in a variety of shapes, as well as black and silver Swarovski crystals.
The collection doesn’t drop until January 2014, so until then we’ll be looking for the secret to miracle growth and subsequently sharpening our talons.
