It’s Official—They Are Now Putting Kale In Our Beauty Products

It’s happened. Gwyneth Paltrow has won. They are now putting kale in our beauty products.

Okay, admittedly, I love kale. I just can’t help but feel like society’s obsession with the cruciferous greens is getting a little out of hand. Especially when I hear this news.

Refinery29 describes a new product from Éminence that is a Citrus & Kale serum for your face. They explain that “ In addition to kale, it contains spinach, broccoli, avocado, lemon, and grapefruit. The brand claims this zesty spring salad of a serum can visibly brighten and lighten sun-damaged skin, prevent inflammation, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.”

It makes sense. After all, kale is good for your insides, and there are plenty of plants that said to be good for your skin. Surely kale can’t be bad for your skin. I’m skeptical, though. It kind of seems like a gimmick, and at $110 for a 1 oz. bottle, I can’t help but think I might be better off just putting a kale leaf on my face.

The serum will be available to buy starting on June 1—we’ll see then if it lives up to the hype. For now, I’ll be content leaving  kale in my salads and glycolic acid on my face.
