Are we the only ones who are surprised to hear that the Kardashians didn’t already have a line of tanning lotions?! WWD reports that the perennially bronzed trio are entering the skincare area with a five-unit “tanning system” called Kardashian Sun Kissed, which will hit shelves in April exclusively at Ulta Beauty.
Kim explained the sisters’ latest empire-expanding move to the trade:
“I think tanning has really been a way of life for all of us, living in California. Especially, more recently, the need for sunless tan. When I travel, the one thing that makes me feel alive whether or not I have makeup on is a tan, especially in my face. When you travel, you can’t just go lay out. I do like regular tanning because I have psoriasis, and the tanning beds are particularly good for that. Every time I put sunless tan before, it wouldn’t be even — so we wanted a system that was really easy but yet is a full system.”
So even if you don’t have the Kardashians’ enviable koloring, you can fake it ’till you make it with their three-step tanning program, priced between $12.99 and $19.99. Step one is either a Body Exfoliator or a Color Maximizer, followed by two options of self tanner (spray or lotion), and finally a Tan Extender with Bronzers.
And while the launch of their makeup line, Khroma Beauty, has been stalled by legal troubles over the name, the sisters will still be padding their pockets in the beauty arena, since industry sources put Sun Kissed’s first year on the shelves at an estimated $10 million.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
