Kate Middleton Did Her Own Makeup For Her Engagement Photos
This weekend we fawned over Kate and Will‘s cute engagement pics. We knew what they wore and where they were photographed, but we had no clue that the future princess did her own makeup! We told you they were royals of the people!
A source told People that Kate did her own makeup for the Mario Testino photo shoot, despite the fact that the photographer brought a makeup artist to the palace. That is ballsy! And may we add, really, really awesome. If we were taking a picture that would be seen by millions and millions of people (and would end up in some historical archive of sorts some day), we totally would have sprung to get our makeup professionally done.
Alas, Kate looks rather flawless with her self-done makeup job. She didn’t do her own hair, however. She left that task to her favorite stylist, James Pryce, who works at the posh Richard Ward Salon in London. And the white Reiss number she wore? Though it was part of last fall’s collection, the British retailer is restocking the $325 dress. It should arrive in mid-January, and will be available at Reiss’s 9 U.S. stores. (For reference, Reiss is sort of like the British version of Banana Republic).
Apparently Kate’s low-maintenance routine is the norm for her. People reports she also did her own makeup for this interview, which we are so sad we are only just now seeing because it’s adorable:
