There seem to be just two words on the minds of beauty marketers these days: Kate Moss. First the super landed a big money, in-the-buff campaign with St. Tropez, and now Kérastase has announced that she will front the ads for its debut styling line, Couture Styling.
The hair care brand, which is owned by L’Oréal, will launch the first of its products, a beach spray called Spray à Porter, in salons this June, with eight more rolling out by late July and an additional two in October. WWD reports that offerings include two levels of hair spray, root lifting spray, and a blow dry gel, and each takes its inspiration from skin care products like eye gel and skin serum.
The campaign will launch in August, and vice president of marketing Julien Bouzitat explained to the trade that Kate, “is kind of a chameleon woman in that she [can sport] casual, cool beachy waves or a sophisticated full-on blowout. We think she’s going to be appealing to a lot of women.” Moss followed up in an email: “I am happy with the images — I like the way my hair is styled — all completely different styles from one another, but all representative of my unique style.”
Weirdly enough, this is her first hairstyling campaign. Think it’s safe to say she’s a natural?
