WATCH: Kristen Chenoweth Shows Off Botched Lash Extensions

Kristen Chenoweth dropped by The Late Show with David Letterman last night while nice and high on Benadryl, to show off her “hard and crusty” eyelids — the side effect of an allergic reaction to the formaldehyde (“dead people juice”) used in eyelash extensions.

While she started the segment wearing sunglasses, a couple minutes in she’d decided her swollen lids looked “sexy” enough to be declared “slutty”. She also told the audience about the “Asian lady” (Jade) responsible for the application and then copped to being drowsy from all the Benadryl. Letterman is a patient man.

Unfortunately Kristin is one of many women who have had a bad
experience with lash extensions because of the quality of the adhesive.
Eyelash extensions have become so popular in the past few years because they
offer the low maintenance, mascara-free beauty of long, lush, luxurious lashes
that can transform your face and allow you to wake up beautiful every
day.  The trick is to find a company with a reputation for offering
quality education to extensionists, superior products, specifically a safe, trusted
adhesive that can be identified by the following features:

    -Physician-formulated

    -Medical Grade

-Bottled in an FDA inspected facility

-Never exposed to contaminants and does not
contain any detectable formaldehyde as manufactured and delivered in the bottle

    -Patent-pending

    -Award-winning

-Formulated with an added flexibility agent

NovaLash’s Platinum Bond is the professional’s choice lash adhesive,
the only patent-pending formula with an added flexibility agent, and winner of
the International Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Product Innovation of
the Year Award.  NovaLash also offers the only physician-developed
lash extension training program to educate lash artists on the meticulous
application process and proper technique to safely apply lash extensions.

Hopefully Kristin will give lash extensions a chance –she absolutely
deserves the luxury of no muss, no fuss, no hassle, beautiful lashes so she can
spend more time in front of the camera being her hilarious, adorable self
instead of in front of the mirror gluing on strip lashes (highly likely to
result in a flapping lash malfunction), or layering on coats of mascara
    multiple times a day.

Was her extensionist certified?  There are a lot of people out there applying the lashes that aren’t properly trained.  I hope next time she chooses the right person to apply her lashes that uses an FDA approved adhesive with no formaldehyde.

To NXD65R – there are NO FDA Approved Lash Adhesives on the market. If someone told you that they are lieing- the FDA is not involved at all. Novalash use to claim that but had to remove it from their site and information because it just wasn’t true. Any lash extension company that does not require their adhesive to be refrigerated and is claiming formaldehyde is not in their adhesive is lieing. Novalash, just like others have had hundreds of people have allergic reactions. Many of their own staff and many complaints from people who use their products have had allergic reactions. It is the same with JB cosmetics. They have many issues with their adhesives. If you want to be safe, go with Xtreme Lashes because they have devoted millions to devoloping adhesives  that are safe. As the leader in the industry, if I ever decide to do lashes again (bad experience) I would only use Xtreme. I dont know much about Lavish Lashes but from what I hear, they are good as well.  Make sure you also always go with a good extensionist. Xreme Lashes are the only ones that have ALWAYS required extensionist to be licensed to take their course… others are now trying to jump on board with that but allowed hundreds of non-licensed people to be trained.
