Lil Wayne Gets His Grill Cleaned

March 8th marked rapper Lil Wayne’s first night in prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges in late October. His original lock up date was postponed so that he could visit the dentist to get his world famous diamond-and-gold grill — worth an estimated $150,000 — worked on and his teeth repaired.

According to TMZ, Wayne received eight hours of dental work, including eight root canals, several tooth implants, and general maintenance of his mouth. If there’s one thing Weezy knows just as well as the rest of us: beauty means pain.

While the court did not order the rapper to remove the grill, according to Slate.com, inmates at Rikers are restricted to “one watch cheaper than $50, one wedding ring with a maximum value of $150, and one religious medallion worth less than $50.” It seems that Wayne’s bling-filled mouth managed to make it through via some serious legal loopholes.
