It’s impossible to test and review every single beauty product on the market, so that’s why we’re just highlighting the good stuff. You know, those lotions and potions with which we’re currently obsessed, and the beauty counter buys we believe everyone should know about. This week’s pick is a drugstore mascara that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
I don’t know why anyone would ever fork over $24 for a mascara when my go-to $11 L’Oréal one works even better. I’ve been using Double Extend Lash Extension Effect Mascara for two years now, and though I’ve strayed a few times to try out some fancy brands, I always come back to this particular one.
This product is basically lash extensions in a tube, hence the name. The white side acts as a nourishing primer, while the black side is full of little fibers that catch onto my short lashes, covering them in “tubes” and creating that coveted falsies look. The best part about this product is that once it’s on, it’s on like Donkey Kong. In my two years of using it (obviously not the same tube), it has never flaked, clumped, or migrated down to my lower lash line, giving me the dreaded panda eyes.
It also washes off like a dream — a simple splash of warm water will loosen the “tubes”, and they’ll literally slide right off my lashes. At first, it was definitely weird to see black fibers come off my eyes, but then I realized that there was no inky black mascara residue on my face afterward — and that is an awesome feeling.
