Name That Scent: Does Marc’s ‘Daisy Sunshine’ Live Up To Its Name?
Fragrance reviews are silly, but sometimes, fragrance marketing is even sillier. What do “playful pastimes” and “nostalgia” really smell like? So from now on, we’ll be crowdsourcing our own fragrance reviews. Read on to find out what our office thought about the latest sample to land on our desk. This week, we’re testing out Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine.
Fragrance: Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine, $65.
What Marc Jacobs thinks it smells like: “A sun-kissed expression of the iconic Daisy fragrance, Daisy Sunshine is a vibrant floral fruity. Radiant and sparkling, the fragrance captivates with a mood-brightening infusion of juicy red fruits. The heart blooms with optimistic notes of vivid spring blossoms and tender lychee, then dries down to a velvety base of blushing apricot skin and musky woods. ”
What we think it smells like:
- “Citrus oil and orange zest. Like what happens when you squeeze an orange peel.”
- “Fancy hotel soap.”
- “Like I’ve decided to eat a grapefruit while smelling a bunch of flowers.”
- “My girlfriend.”
- “An expensive store.”
- “Summer vacation in high school.”
- “My mom.”
- “Very bouquet-ful.”
- “Bright and cheerful.”
- “An orchard in July.”
