The FLOTUS with the mostess Michelle Obama turns 49-years-young today, and she celebrated by showing off a fresh new hairstyle — complete with bangs! The blunt bangs and shorter layers frame her face, and we totally love the new ‘do. New year, new look!

There’s no word on when she got the cut — perhaps it was before or even during her holiday vacation in Hawaii? After all, she was wearing a headband the entire time. But really, does it matter? Michelle’s bangs still rule.

One final thought: is it just us, or does it look a little bit like Michelle got The Karlie?
