Bleach Salon Celebrates Printable Barbie Hair With Colorful Collab

Printable Barbie hair is the coolest!

All you need is some software and an inkjet printer, and you too can print onto hair extensions for Barbie — and for yourself.

And in honor of Barbie Design Printables, the talented team over at London’s Bleach salon has created some insanely awesome custom hair looks for the iconic doll. This is what Bleach stylist Alex Brownsell told Dazed Digital about the project:

“To create the looks for Barbie we basically just used everything we could – dye, marker pens, glitter, nail polish, bits of fabric, stickers, even crisp packets. We have had a few disasters whilst trying things out on Barbie’s hair – someone melted her hair off in the crimper forgetting it was synthetic, and we have also ended up with one having bright blue skin. All the Barbies have taken inspiration from real clients and people that we know (not telling any names). I created five of the Barbie looks and everyone from the Bleach team has also created their own Barbie; it’s become very competitive in the salon. A normal person’s hair dye takes a few hours, but we’ve all managed to spends weeks on Barbie’s.”

Check out the OMG AWESOME hair below:

And if you’re wondering how the whole thing works, each kit comes with a doll and 16 extensions that can be clipped into your doll’s hair (or your own hair!). Then you use the Barbie software to create your very own hair designs, and then print ‘em out on the extensions provided in the $30 kit.

Love the printable hair extensions idea. I purchased them as a birthday gift for my daughter. They didn’t work as well as I had hoped. They kept getting jammed in the printer.

Now my 6 year old wants some hair extensions of her own. I found a great website http://www.colorfulhairextensions.com they sell colored clip in hair extensions for kids. I was able to buy pink, purple, and lime green hair extensions to match her barbie. She loves them and doesn’t want to leave the house without them. I guess she’s officially a Diva in training.
