PHOTOS: Rihanna’s Fragrance Ad Gets Censored In Kuwait

Barely racy ads getting censored in the Middle East is nothing new, but we find the Kuwaiti repackaging of Rihanna‘s ad for her fragrance Reb’l Fleur to be sort of graceful — and still really strange.

With the exception of RiRi’s exposed midriff, the original ad is fairly conservative. Just a girl in a pink robe holding a fleur. The Kuwaiti ad is the exact same photograph, only shopped to pull the robes over the stretch of bare skin on the singer’s stomach. If that’s what it takes for an audience to be OK with an ad, that sort of sucks. But least they didn’t put an overgrown cat on her.
