WATCH: Vincent Cassel Being Vincent Cassel For Yves Saint Laurent

We’re not going to enumerate the number of masters degrees you’d need to actually find meaning in most fragrance commercials, but we will say this: Actor Vincent Cassel probably isn’t even acting in this new video for Yves Saint Laurent‘s men’s fragrance, La Nuit del L’Homme.

Nope. Not acting at all. Just walking around beautifully arranged scenarios, seducing beautiful women, apparently without exerting any effort whatsoever. At first we thought the commercial was trying to tell men that if they smell like Vincent Cassel, they will have the same impact on women (and, well, dudes too) that the French actor does. But then we thought, it’s ridiculous to suggest that there are people who will succumb to a smell. And then we also thought that if Vincent Cassel smelled like a poultry farm, it probably wouldn’t have any on his ability to, like, turn people on. And then we were just generally confused. Watch this commercial and tell us if you can make any sense out of it.
