Long before Brad Pitt entered the picture, Marilyn Monroe was the bold-faced name that instantly came to mind at the mention (or whiff, for that matter) of Chanel No. 5.
The house today released lost audio footage of an interview the actress gave in April 1960 to Georges Belmont at French Marie Claire, along with a video chronicling the path of Monroe’s famous response to “What do you wear to bed?”:
“You know, they ask you questions…just an example: ‘What do you wear to bed? A pajama top? The bottoms of the pajama? A nightgown?’ So I said ‘Chanel No. 5!’ Because it’s the truth!”
