If Marie Claire editor Nina Garcia‘s steely gaze didn’t wither your soul enough when it was directed at Project Runway contestants and buffered by a television screen, well, good news! Her sartorial criticism will soon be available in your living room and customizable to your wardrobe. The print and TV maven is partnering with AOL to produce an online series in the vein of What Not To Wear, in which she’ll descend like a benevolent fairy godmother on unsuspecting fashion plebeians to bestow advice on how to dress, and how to “smooth their rough edges.”
We’re excited for the big transformations that these kinds of shows reliably deliver, but even more excited to see Garcia — who is more than a little out of touch with the average American lady, as evidenced by a certain tweet last summer — getting down and dirty in closets that aren’t stacked floor-to-ceiling in designer duds.
The series premieres on January 22 — will you be tuning in? Watch the promo video below, and let us know in the comments.
