Zooey Deschanel Is Totally Unrecognizable In This Rimmel Ad

Do you recognize the model in this ad for Rimmel‘s Lasting Finish lipstick? No? Us either! But apparently it’s Zooey Deschanel…!

Deschanel is so totally unrecognizable in the photo that we had to do some major Googling to make sure she’s actually a spokesperson for the brand. And yes, she is. If you recall, Rimmel has gotten into hot water twice over their misleading mascara ads. Somewhat relatedly, Deschanel doppelgänger Katy Perry was airbrushed to the point of unrecognizability by Harper’s Bazaar last year.

Anyway, we’re completely baffled by the makeup company’s Photoshop job. This doesn’t look like Deschanel! Not one bit! Even her trademark bangs and baby blues don’t register when paired with her severely altered face. Still need to be convinced? Check out our side-by-side below:

Baffled? Really? What’s there to be baffled about when there is millions at stake, young impressionable girls the world over and an illusion to manufacture?

Why buy make up to create or enhance a look when you can photoshop the whole thing guaranteed?

I saw the ads and I recognised her instantly! THe TV spots are very recognisable…

It definitely looks like they toned down her bright blue eyes and puffed up her lips to make the lipstick they’re selling stand out more.
I didn’t recognize her, either.
