PHOTOS: Taylor Swift Straightens Out For The AMAs
Somewhere between attending the Met’s Costume Institute Gala, taking in Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2011 show in Milan and closing in on her 21st birthday, Taylor Swift became a little more adventurous with her style. Though she still sticks to sparkles when it comes to red carpets, Swift has been mixing things up a bit on her downtime — which is why the stick-straight ‘do she debuted at last night’s American Music Awards was a pleasant and playful surprise.
PHOTOS: Sub-Par Style At GQ’s Men Of The Year Party
Last night, Hollywood stepped out to celebrate GQ’s Men of the Year issue. And while we love a good party style recap, the resulting red carpet wasn’t so much a battle of the best-dressed as it was a collection of famous (and sorta famous) people wearing clothes. Let’s take a look, shall we?
PHOTOS: Michelle Obama’s Spectacular Southeast Asia Outfits
First lady Michelle Obama can’t go anywhere and not look good, and she proved that yet again on her recent trip through Southeast Asia. Mrs. O and the president stopped in India and Indonesia where they visited temples, official residences, sites of tragedy and mirth alike — and the even did a little fancy footwork with a few schoolchildren.
PHOTOS: Eva Mendes Is Bananas For Prada!
Back in September, when everyone was declaring Miuccia Prada‘s Spring 2011 collection a “major fashion moment,” we were wondering which starlet would brave the red carpet in a dress covered with bananas. And it turns out, that brave lady is Eva Mendes, who wore a green striped and monkey-patterned dress to a photocall for “The Other Guys” in Madrid.
PHOTOS: Taylor Swift Is All Grown Up, Has Never Looked Better
In the interest of full disclosure, we feel obligated to tell you that we absolutely love Taylor Swift. In other words, it’s almost impossible for her to do any wrong in our eyes. But while she absolutely, without a doubt, never looks bad, we’ve always harbored a secret hope that she’d vamp things up a bit, stray from her sequined pastels, and maybe take a risk or two on the red carpet. And at last night’s BMI Country Music Awards, the record-breaking songstress managed to step her game up while staying true to her sparkly Swift style.
PHOTOS: Rachel McAdams Shines In Gunmetal Grey
Rachel McAdams, how we’ve missed her! The actress (and fellow Canadian!) stepped out in New York for the premiere of her new film, What’s The Story Morning Glory? co-starring Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton. And McAdams, in typical McAdams form, lit up the red carpet in a ruched, gunmetal grey dress paired with strappy heels and an arm full of jewels.
PHOTOS: Style Stars Sparkle (Literally) At The ACE Awards
Last night, fashion’s boldest and brightest came out to celebrate the honorees and recipients of the 2010 Accessories Council Excellence Awards which are also and more pithily known as the ACE Awards. And at a show where Alber Elbaz is awarded Designer of the Year, Paper’s Kim Hastreiter is given the Marylou Luther Award for Fashion Journalism, and Kanye West is dubbed Tastemaker of the Year, you can expect the red carpet to be off the chain. Let’s take a look!
PHOTOS: Who Was Best Dressed At The Night Of Stars?
On Thursday, Melissa George, Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Connelly, and Leighton Meester all stepped out in style to celebrate The Fashion Group International’s 27th annual Night Of Stars awards. Who do you think was best dressed?
PHOTOS: Lady Gaga’s Ludicrous London Style
This may sound like an oxymoron, but Lady Gaga has been keeping a somewhat low style profile over the last couple weeks. But following the death of her grandfather and a vacation in Greece with her boyfriend Luc Carl, it’s been over two weeks since we’ve seen Gaga out in public in a crazy ensemble. Thankfully, the Fame Monster is now gallivanting about London in bustled dresses made of pink hair and caftans paired with 8-inch high platforms.
PHOTOS: Ed Westwick Loves A Colored Shirt, Man Cleavage
We dedicate a lot of space on Styleite to red carpet style, but we’re the first to admit that men often get short shrift. But when it comes to event dressing, men just don’t have as much room to play. Unless, of course, you’re Ed Westwick. The Gossip Girl star’s penchant for mix-n-match suits, ankle baring cuffs, and extra-deep v-necks make for some seriously dynamic and dapper duds. Let’s take a look.
Who Was Best Dressed At The Mad Men Finale Party?
The cast of Mad Men celebrated the season four finale in style on Thursday night at the iconic 21 Club in New York City. And just like on the show, the cast looked fab, though Betty Draper January Jones was notably missing (again.) Who was your favorite?
PHOTOS: Selita Ebanks’ Armored Ensemble
On Thursday night, former Victoria’s Secret model and current Kanye West flame Selita Ebanks joined some of New York’s biggest names at Ferragamo’s midtown flagship for a private cocktail party benefitting New Yorkers for Children. And while the cause was great, we think Ebanks’ ensemble was greater.
PHOTOS: Chlöe Sevigny’s Surprisingly Timeless Style
We’ve been obsessed with Chlöe Sevigny ever since we saw her in the September 1992 issue of Sassy wearing a patchwork hat of her own design. And while she’s not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea, she certainly knows how to make a statement on the red carpet. But as we looked through the archives to pull our favorites of Sevigny’s looks, we noticed something very interesting. For as “hip” as her look may be, it’s also incredibly timeless. Take a look back at the last ten years of Sevigny’s style and tell us if she couldn’t wear any and all of it today.
PHOTOS: Kate Moss Goes Tea Length For Night Out In London
If there’s one person we love categorically at Styleite, it’s Kate Moss. Looking at photos of her outfits might be our favorite pasttime — does the woman ever look bad? But this morning, while doing our usual TFS Kate Moss perusal, we saw her tea-length ensemble from her night out at Harry’s Bar in London. And while she certainly looks good, the whole look somehow felt a little off for Moss.
PHOTOS: Dita Von Teese Shuts It Down In Basic Black
Fashion historians could argue for days who the most important woman in our industry is. We’re casting our vote for one Miss Dita Von Teese. Why? Dita Von Teese showed up for the Elie Saab show in Paris wearing a detailed long-sleeved black dress, embellished black heels, a simple watch with a black leather strap, these gorgeous sunglasses and timeless black clutch. And she looked effortlessly amazing.
PHOTOS: Blake Lively’s Purple Peek-a-Boo Frock
Blake Lively stepped out in New York Thursday night to celebrate the launch of Tiffany’s new eyewear collection and true to form, we think she looked fab. Dressed in a mauve chiffon and black lace frock by Elie Saab, Lively’s hair was left slightly undone in a messy side braid. Topping off her artfully disheveled ensemble were a pair of see-through Louboutins. This just might be her best look yet.

PHOTOS: Who Was Best Dressed At Roberto Cavalli?
Celebrities are pretty much a front row staple at any fashion show, but only the biggest names in fashion can guarantee A-list faces — as opposed those most commonly seen on the CW. Roberto Cavalli is one of those names. Elisabetta Canalis, Heidi Klum, Leona Lewis, Rachel Bilson, and Taylor Swift all turned up and out in Milan to see what Cavalli had in store for his spring collection. But who was best dressed?
CAPTION THIS: Police Escort Gives Lohan’s Shoes The Stink Eye
Is it just us, or is the police escort giving Lindsay Lohan’s Louboutins a serious case of the stink eye? (Well, it’s either that or a look of straight up disbelief: “You’re wearing those to jail? Girl, you crazy.”)
