Why You Should Watch the YouTube Music Awards with Us Tomorrow

Because … YOLO! Just kidding. We’d never do that to you.

What we will do, however, is entreat you to join us at 6 p.m. Sunday for the first annual YouTube Music Awards, during which Eminem, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga and Versace collaborator M.I.A. will perform live.

Also increasing the chances of something terribly exciting happening is director Spike Jonze‘s decision to do away with the teleprompter and script. That’s right — hosts-cum-presenters Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts will be thrown to the figurative sharks with only their wits and cue cards as (also figurative) flotation devices.

Toss in a giant warehouse with five sets plus audience participation, and we’re practically rubbing our hands together in anticipation. Read Watch up on all the nominees now, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow night.
