It’s no doubt that YouTube has completely altered the way we receive media. Just think, if it weren’t for YouTube, where would Justin Bieber be? the Gregory Brothers of Auto-Tune The News (um, “Hide ya kids, hide ya wife” ring a bell?) give a history of YouTube in honor of its 8th Anniversary this month.
The Arrested Development star attended the unveiling of her Los Angeles Confidential Magazine May/June cover in a cool-blue number.
“I didn’t feel a thing,” she told Jimmy Fallon. Guess that Cannes air is intoxicating.
Just about everyone, from Marion Cotillard to Karlie Kloss to Bianca Balti, opted to bare their backs for today’s premiere of The Immigrant at the Cannes Film Festival. And yet, despite the inevitable lack of bras on the red carpet, there wasn’t a single wardrobe malfunction. High fives all around, stylists!
This weekend, Michael Douglas is going to blow all of our minds by portraying the human discoball that was Liberace. Based on HBO promos for Behind The Candelabra, we can already tell that he steps into the bedazzled platform shoes seamlessly; but credit must be given where due and in this case the film’s costume designer deserves some acknowledgement.
Rihanna may not like how she looks in the allegedly unauthorized photo Topshop screened on their “Rihanna” tank top — in fact, she’s currently embroiled in a major lawsuit over it — but the UK fans that snapped it up before the retailer pulled it from their website certainly do. Here’s why that might not be such a good thing for the pop star.
This morning we stumbled, nay, Tumbl’d upon Shit Bloggers Wear, a blog devoted to illustrations of the trend du jour merchandise that catches a wave and starts being snapped in selfies on every fashion blog all at once. You know, the 3.1 Phillip Lim ‘I Love Nueva York’ tank (guilty blogger here) or, more generally speaking, culottes.
Diana is on its way to the big screen, now that the eponymous biopic starring Naomi Watts has just been picked up for US distribution. With the news comes our very first official photo of the actress in the role of the People’s Princess. What do you think? Does the look do Di justice?
With Memorial Day only days away, we can officially welcome Summer — and all the sundresses, sandals, and denim cutoffs that come with it. We’re looking to a whole new dress code to inspire us on the breeziest — and even the stickiest — Summer days. Consider this your jumping-off point for your most stylish season yet, and start clicking through now.
Guess sometimes it’s just a cobalt kinda day. That was certainly the case yesterday at this Hollywood screening of Isla Fisher’s new film Now You See Me, where the red carpet was turned many shades of blue (albeit not quite 50) by the guests’ ensembles.
When we heard that one of our all-time favorite magazines was launching in one of our all-time favorite countries, suffice it to say we were expecting something big. Sure, we may not be quite fluent in the language, and trudging through the longform pieces may have promised something of a challenge, but with Carine Roitfeld’s one-time rumored successor Virginie Mouzat in charge of fashion coverage, we figured we’d be in for some top notch content. Unfortunately, the debut cover isn’t much to write home about.
Ever wonder how absurdly wealthy folks blow off steam in the French Riviera? Well, it turns out it’s by throwing around hundreds of thousands of dollars to get unlikely couples to make out with one another. For a good cause, of course.
Which explains why she completely nailed it.
Last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Elisabeth Moss pranced on set in an adorable tennis-dress styled LBD and a striking new hairdo. Her character on Mad Men may have had the worst day of work in the latest episode, but this look landed Moss as our best of the day.
The Cannes Film Festival is winding down, but we’re holding on to its unparalleled fashion for as long as we can. In our latest round-up, we find that Nicole Kidman has taken the cake for the most showstopping moment, while Rosario Dawson made us think twice about the peplum.
We don’t need to tell you that Gisele Bündchen looks stunning even without an ounce of makeup. But at last night’s private viewing of her series of photographs with BLK DNM founder Johan Lindeberg, she told us why that’s not the only part of going au naturel that she finds refreshing. We also asked her opinion on the epic internet debate of the week over the pronunciation of the word GIF: soft “g” like Gisele, or hard “g” like her sister Gabi (who was also there to fête the project)? Plus, see a GIF from last night’s party and find out the addictive hobby she’s just discovered.
Yesterday afternoon, Parsons The New School for Design held its annual fashion show, which showcases the class of 2013′s final collections and introduces the fashion world to a new crop of talent. Considering that Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have participated in the event, we knew we had to keep our eyes peeled for some future CFDA inductees.
Our wildest dreams have just come true. Finally, after falling in love with Michelle Obama’s risqué prom night look, we have the missing piece to the puzzle: Barack Obama’s prom photo, which surfaced today on TIME. Now, we no longer have to use our imagination to picture the handsome first couple together, during, let’s face it, the most awkward night of high school. However, this discovery has also raised a very important question: who did prom style best?
With Summer just around the corner, we’ve got little white dresses on the brain. And who better to turn to for inspiration than some of the most fashionable famous faces? We’re talking about Jessica Chastain, Isla Fisher, Dianna Agron, Eva Longoria, and Kerry Washington, and the list goes on. The best part of breaking out the LWD is that it’s just so easy to style . . . with just about everything. From a classic white pump to a metallic sandal to a fun pop of color via a crossbody bag, it’s all fair game. Click through to PopSugar Fashion to see how 46 celebrities styled their LWDs, then put your own spin on it.
Oh….my. If Amanda Bynes didn’t like tabloids before, she definitely doesn’t like them now. The cover of this week’s In Touch loudly proclaims “Destroyed by Fame!” and, the real kicker, “First ever photos: Inside her wild home.” Apparently, Bynes invited a pair of photographers over for some late night partying recently, opening up her “drug den” of an apartment for the world to see. Now, she’s on one hell of a rampage (all over her never dull Twitter feed, natch), claiming the photos were faked and lashing out at the “ugly faced black man” who sold them.
