TIME WARP: ’90s Gap Commercials Totally Ruled
Last week we discussed the whole “making Gap fun again” thing, and it got us thinking about our favorite Gap ads. We’ve already posted the Patrick Wilson/Claire Danes commercial from 2007, but today we’re going way back in the archives.
The khaki ads of 1998 (“Khaki Soul”, “Khaki-A-Go-Go”, etc.) jumpstarted Gap’s cool commercial kick, but it was the clips they released the subsequent year that really won us over. Alex Greenwald and Rashida Jones made appearances, and the song selection was just so good. These commercials made us want to wear all Gap all the time. And have Gap friends. And date Gap boys. And isn’t that what advertisements should do? Bring these back, we say!
