Abercrombie & Fitch Bans Customer For Shopping Too Much
Kim Navarra sounds like the ideal Abercrombie & Fitch customer. She shops almost exclusively at the chain store and has been known to spend more than $1,000 a year on A&F duds. But these seemingly positive customer attributes were exactly what got Kim banned from shopping at her favorite store.
The chain store accused Navarra of reselling their clothes, a suspicion ignited by her frequent purchases. In an e-mail to the not-so-happy customer, the company linked to their policy that “Any orders found to have characteristics of reselling will be cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel all subsequent orders from such customers.” A&F banned Kim from using a $200 dollar gift card and making any online purchases.
Kim is no clothing counterfeiter — and she showed ABC News her closet to prove it. “I’m not reselling them. As you can see, I have the clothes on, I wear them to work, I’ve worn every single pair of jeans,” she told reporters.
“I feel attacked,” Kim’s husband and fellow Abercrombie lover said. “They’re accusing us of something we never would dream of doing.” Only after ABC contacted them did the clothing store clear Navarra’s name and allow her to use her gift card — which she’s now saving for the store’s 25% off sale.
