Agyness Deyn To Play Stripper In Feature Film Debut
For the past couple of years, Agyness Deyn has been trying to break into the whole acting thing. (Maybe that’s why she was hanging out with James Franco recently?) Now she seems to have landed what we believe is her first role in a feature film. She will be playing
a stripper an erotic dancer.
This model is starring in a remake of the 1996 movie Pusher, described as a cult classic about a drug dealer named Frank. The original took place in Copenhagen, though the remake will be London-based.
[Director Luis] Prieto wasn’t aware of who Deyn was when the pair first met and reportedly chose the model based on her impressive audition, casting her as the role of Flo — a strong-minded stripper, who is given an escape route out of the country through drug dealer Frank.
We hate to hate on Aggy, but a stripper? That seems like some miscasting right there. We can imagine her playing a disaffected hipster type. Or a model. Or a disaffected hipster model. Or a runner! But we guess that’s why they call it acting, right? The film is being released next spring (or summer), so we’ll just have to wait until then to see Aggy’s dramatic chops.
