Alec Baldwin Was Banned From Hosting amfAR Gala In Cannes

It looks like the Cannes Film Festival hasn’t been very fun for Alec Baldwin.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin was pissed that Harvey Weinstein didn’t want to fund his documentary Seduced and Abandoned and blasted the entertainment mogul at a Calvin Klein party earlier this week:

“I don’t care who knows. After the success he had at Cannes last year and all the f—ing Oscars, he’s still a f—ing douchebag! I can’t believe it.”

(Note: There’s a discrepancy as to whether Baldwin said “asshole” or “douchebag”. Seriously.)

Sources say Weinstein subsequently banned Baldwin from hosting last night’s fancy amfAR Gala. In the end, the whole thing apparently blew over when the actor apologized in a note (“HW, my apology to you and congratulations on a successful event.”). He showed up on the red carpet with fiance Hilaria Thomas.

Weinsten replied in a statement: “Alec couldn’t have been more gracious. We all lose our tempers sometime; trust me I have, too. We all appreciated his generosity to everyone at amfAR.”
