Real Housewife Alex McCord To Walk In 5 Fashion Shows

Yesterday we explored the relationship between Fashion Week and reality TV. Today we would like to further the argument that sometimes this relationship is just ridiculous.

The Cut ran into Alex McCord (she of Real Housewives pseudo-fame) last night, and she told them that she was walking in five shows this week “including Susan Cianciolo, Project Runway alum Malan Breton, and three others she can’t remember.” Five shows, including three she can’t remember?! How? Why? WHAT?

McCord doesn’t divulge how exactly she got these gigs, but we’re assuming the designers in question wanted some extra publicity. And she will certainly oblige, which isn’t surprising given the fact that she willingly has her “life” taped on the regular. She even said this: “Hopefully I won’t fall off the runway. But if I do, at least that’ll be good press for the designer.” We don’t know if we would call that “good press,” but we guess they say any press is good press, right?

Regardless, McCord clearly loves herself, as evidenced by this tidbit:

I went for fittings today, and I don’t think they were quite prepared for how tall and skinny I am. They saw me and they were gonna ask how I wanted my hair and makeup, and they said, “We’re gonna put you in the show look,” and I was like, “Yes, put me in the show look!” and they said they would because I looked like a model. Their words, not mine.

Coincidentally, we’ll be attending both Susan Cianciolo and Malan Breton, so we’ll let you know how McCord does!
