WATCH: Nick Knight’s Tribute To McQueen Will Make You Cry

Yesterday at the British Fashion Awards, photographer Nick Knight presented a video he made in tribute to the late, great Lee McQueen. The video, entitled “To Lee, With Love, Nick” features a group black models wearing McQueen’s iconic designs, set to a song Bjork wrote specifically for the occasion. Edward Enninful styled the film. Knight said he thought “it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the museum takes them away,” in reference to the McQueen retrospective planned by The Costume Institute.

This video is haunting and dark and beautiful — in short, it’s very McQueen. We try very hard here at Styleite to be candid and, well, not trite, but it’s very difficult not to be moved by this video –especially if you’re as a big a fan of McQueen’s as we are.
