American Apparel’s New Ads Star An ‘Advanced’ Gray-Haired Model

We’re so used to seeing nipples, pubic hair, and all sorts of weird naked stuff in American Apparel ads that we assumed the company just couldn’t shock us anymore. But then they did! The latest campaign features a fully-clothed (though in crotch shot position!), older, gray-haired woman named Jacky.

Fashionista spotted Jacky in American Apparel’s ads for its Advanced Basics line. Shades of Ari Seth Cohen‘s Advanced Style, perhaps? Reps say that Jacky was discovered on the street, and that the ads mark her first modeling gig.

American Apparel seems to be undergoing an image rehab of sorts. Just last month, the retailer featured transgender model Isis King as part of its LGBT pride campaign
