You’ll Never Guess Where Proenza Schouler Is Staging Its Next Runway
Everyone’s trying to get a piece of China these days, and now, the CFDA and Vogue have teamed up to create a new program aimed to bring more American fashion to the emerging global market.
With the financial help of Silas Chou, a Chinese billionaire who invests heavily in the American fashion industry, the CFDA and Vogue created the “Americans in China” program. It starts on June 21 with runway shows being put on by Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, and Marchesa at the Dynasty City Wall Relics Park near China’s Great Wall. The three brands will show their fall collections again, hopefully in some sort of air conditioned tent because yours truly knows just how hot the summer can get in China.
In addition to putting on the shows, the designers will also be honored at a cocktail reception hosted by U.S. Ambassador to China Gary Locke, and a fancy dinner by Vogue China’s editor-in-chief Angelica Cheung.
