America’s Next Top Model Winner Disqualified For Using Facebook?

The finale of America’s Next Top Model: All-Stars season aired last night and while former judge Janice Dickinson would like the world to know the whole thing is rigged, not even the producers saw this ending coming.

It was down to the final three: Lisa D’Amato, Alison Harvard, and fairly obvious frontrunner Angelea Preston, when the judges revealed that Angelea had been disqualified. “It turns out,” Nigel Barker oh-so-helpfully and dramatically explains to the rest of the panel, “that after shooting was wrapped, our production team and the network learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the competition.”

A statement released by the CW after airing confirms his explanation.

“After production wrapped on the current cycle of America’s Next Top Model, we learned information that made Angelea ineligible and she was subsequently disqualified from the competition. As a result, new scenes were filmed to address this for the audience during the finale.”

But there have been some persistent rumors circulating online that Angelea was the original winner and that she was disqualified for bragging about the title on her Facebook page. The producers allegedly brought the judges and models back to re-shoot the finale.

Most reality shows have some serious non-disclosure contracts, so that definitely fits. In which case: what was Angelea thinking?

Oh, and for those who care: Lisa won the second time around.

Clearly Angelea was the original winner.  IF that had not been the case, then ANTM would not had to re-stage a final selection in LA.  If Angelea was disqualified and a non-winner, it would not have impacted the final choice and re-staging the event would have been a moot point.  It’s too bad that they didn’t select Allison.  Lisa perpetually reminds me of her disgusting antics from her original cycle.  When I see her image promoting anything, I still have negative connotations.

WOW, they really take those stuff serious. I have a friend who entered a famous singers contest and until all the filming was over she had to use the same foundation, nail polish etc.

  • Netichiae

angelea was no doubt the original winner she went hard non stop and should have never been disqualified !! i love u angelea!! allways do u n stay just the way u r if those bitchs dnt like it den oh well

  • Bluster

Meh, I thought Angelea was only on because she made controversy and thus good TV. Her photos were the weakest of the bunch week after week.

  • Modein

    The rules are the rules!

  • Psmr

I think Allison or Laura would’ve been alot better than either of the other two, I mean come on Angelea tells the designer she wanted something at crotch level of her dress if she made it that far! I loved Allisons design and she never had an excuse because of her eye problem, which as having blue eyes I can understand, she just excepted and did her damndest to work through it in a country w/ white beaches and rocks so the sun is stronger and harder to see w/o sunglasses
But then go back to the petite cycle, my daughter is 5ft and at the DC auditions everyone taller were auditioned and the actual show the shortest person was 5’3″ and the others 5’5″ or taller, and I might be biased ,but all the people who see but don’t know her have always remarked on her looks and she never noticed until after she got out of bootcamp and an elderly woman was talking to me and made the reamark at how beautiful she was and she said thank you, it took her 20 yrs to realize what was being said and that’s w/o make-up!
I took her for pictures and she and her second brother have always been photogenic (def not after me) so what does a person have to do or say to even be looked at after waiting HOURS, at least American Idol listens to EVERYBODY and decides

  • Psmr

And pls excuse misspelled words and for those that don’t know ht limit for petite, it’s 5’4″ and under!

  • Haily

    i dont agree..whatevs

  • DUH.

Allison should have won. she IS AMAZING.

  • Britl

This is the dumbest comment I’ve ever read. What does your daughter being “pretty” (so you say, and PS every parent is bias) have anything to do with ANTM? Also American idol doesn’t listen to eneryone. That’s a bunch of bull shit, they only put the bad people on to make it fun to watch. I had a friend (who has an amazing voice) try out and she made
It through 3 auditions and STILL never got to actually see
The judges. All of these shows are scripted and fake.

  • Catherinec36

I don’t think Angelea should’ve won. She was in the bottom 2 four times. She gave multiple excuses and she didn’t participate in one of the challenges because she felt that Tyra or Beyonce wouldn’t have done it. I do think Allison should’ve won. She’s awesome!!!!!!!

  • Ad

wrong that was Bianca who didnt participate

  • Ad

I think Andre didnt like the fact that she was eliminated

  • Ad

Exactly she was underrated through out the whole competition..

  • Ad

Exactly!!! Angelea is the All-Star…ppl say her pictures are weak, but she remained in the competition and was chosen to stay over “stronger&more experienced” models. True Alison deserved it more than Lisa. I doubt Lisa was actually in the top 2

  • Anonymous

i was hoping laura or lisa would win all the time, althout allison and angelea was pushed and dragged to the final . angelea was just BAD

  • Rheesa

What does that have to do with anything? What do you mean “until all the filming was over she had to use the same foundation, nail polish etc.”??? “Famous Singers” contest? Why can’t you name it? And what does nail polish have to do with singing? Your comment makes no sense.

  • Rheesa

“allways do u n stay just the way u r if those bitchs dnt like it den oh well”
Yeah, because being angry and rude is such a good “role model” attitude to have. Angry at the whole world for having grown up in a tough environment and being broke? Her attitude actually disses Brooklyn and people from rough neighborhoods that live on food stamps and welfare because she makes it out like those kinds of people (poor people with a rough past, like herself. All the people who live like that today.) are lesser human beings that aren’t worthy of being recognized for their beauty or brains and aren’t “good enough” to be on a TV show. Everything Angelea ever said about Brooklyn or her past was always so negative and she played the victim throughout the whole competition. Her attitude was “I deserve to win because (and I am a lesser human being) because of where I come from” instead of “I deserve to win because I am beautiful and smart with a rich past and people from my hood are beautiful people who deserve all the good things life has to offer. Just because we live in a rough neighborhood and we are poor doesn’t mean our hearts and minds are too. If anything, growing up where I did has made me who I am and I am proud of that and proud of the people I’ve grown up around because they are REAL and they may be poor but they’re spirits and hearts are rich. I’m a survivor, I am real and that’s something no amount of fame can buy.”
Instead she was always moaning and playing the victim role. Lisa had a very tough past as well, but she never made herself look like a victim. She always remained positive to others and herself. She may have not been the most beautiful girl in the competition but she was the richest in spirit and personality and most importantly the truest to herself.
If Angelea was disqualified for breaching her confidentiality contract by announcing that she won prematurely (before the finale aired) on Facebook, then I am glad. Because she certainly didn’t deserve to win. Allison and Lisa were both deserving of the title and I am glad that one of them won.

  • Rheesa

I agree. Psmr’s comment is a dumb as it is confusing. I have no idea what she is trying to say or what it has to do with ANTM.

  • ely moss

I actually thought that too…cause a few months ago he decided he wasnt to come back to the show around the time they refilmed the reshoot judging. alison had confirmed it was only maybe 2 months after the actual finale that they had to come back and reshoot. its all a coincidence to me. to the alison fans, get over yourselves she was only there to get exposure for her art not her actual modeling. angela got to the top 3 like it or not…you can whine all you want but she made it..hate on bitches.

  • Kim

    Angelea is way too ghetto

  • Anonymous

she was overrated and dragged to final without deserving it, actually

  • Psmr

Maybe you’re to immature, What I was sayin is ANTM doesn’t allow for all to audition and unless YOUR petite you do not know what they go through looking for clothes w/o tailoring because nothing is cut for them and that season would’ve  put it out there, instead they had girls over the petite ht and Laura is the only young lady who let them know she had her Grandmother make the clothes she wore because she couldn’t get it where she lived.
And those who like to only take a portion of whats said is the dumb one ,as my first paragraph was completely about to runner ups.

  • Danny

Well one thing is for sure: this has certainly created a buzz and a lot of additional publicity for antm. Does Angelea seem like all star material? not to me. Makes me wonder why she was there at all.

  • Catherinec36

Probably wouldn’t have watched ANTM ever again if Angelea won. Again, too many excuses!!!

  • Catherinec36

    Totally agree

  • Catherinec36

You’re right, again though, too many excuses. Plus every conflict she came across had her storming off.

  • Dormeus

Indeed, Angelea was way too ghetto and hearing about it all the times was just annoying. Plus, she would break down, cry and couldn’t handle the pressure. She just wasn’t ready emotionally to be in the spotlight but koudos to her for her perseverance.
I personally think that Lisa looks old but her bubbly personality helped her get that far and actually win it.
I’m sûre Allison will make it far in the industry.
As a fan on ANTM, I think they should have kept it real and tell thé viewers the reason why Angelea got disqualified.

    I loved Lisa..

  • Not a Lisa Fan

And Lisa was only there to get exposure for her music career.  If the only thing these ladies have is their looks, they will be is serious trouble.  Looks fade but talent, intelligence and passion are forever.  Lisa may be passionate but I don’t find her talented or intelligent.  She’s just plain obnoxious and annoying!

  • ely moss

She was chosen to stay there because they believed her character and star power was stronger than the other models not simply because of a picture but her over all character. If my statement weren’t true..then people like you wouldnt be here commenting about angelea. you’d be off commenting on alison’s, laura’s or dominique’s shit…but as of right now none of them are getting as much attention as Angelea is right now. which just makes my statement that much stronger. If Angelea was as overrated and dragged to finale without deserving it…then no one would really care about this scandal.disqualification.  from what i know right now…angelea’s disqualification is overshadowing lisa’s win. in every interview…its basically about angelea then they get on with lisa questions…which are usually the same boastful and arrogant answers in each interview. HATE ON, BITCHES.

  • Ely Moss

i read that twice lol…and i still need a recap of what you just said hahaha

  • kadiera

Well, you are probably biased to your friends voice, so maybe you should think before you rip into someone who thinks their kid is pretty! Im assuming you dont have kids!

  • Anonymous

nobody really cares, you know. she was not worth it, so it happened. move on

  • Betta_than_butta

I agree with Lisa.  I don’t think that Angelea was ready for this.  She had way too much drama going on.  I don’t think her disqualification had to do with her revealing herself as the winner…no way she would be that big of a fool.  I think it was something personal with her, she was waay too emotional at that final runway show and Barker said that the producers learned something FROM her not about her.

  • http://www.genisdental.com/ bucks county dental

“that after shooting was wrapped, our production team and the network
learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the
    competition.”
