Last night, the annual amfAR New York Gala kicked off NYFW, and all the familiar front row faces of fashion week were decked out and in attendance. The event was sponsored by Fiji Water and took place at Cipriani Wall Street, and this year honored Heidi Klum, Kenneth Cole, and Janet Jackson for their contributions in the fight against AIDS.
Most everyone braved the chilly weather and opted for décolletage-revealing evening wear, but Lindsay Lohan, in a rare moment of practicality, showed up at the after party wearing a hooded fur jacket. Supermodels Karlie Kloss and Heidi Klum went yin and yang in sparkly Michael Kors: Kloss rocked a short demure white dress, and Klum went for long and black, with a plunging neckline.
Poppy Delevingne was covered up, and was anything but prim — her silvery ankle-length gown had a charming nipped-in waist and interesting detailing on the neck and sleeves, and her crystal-encrusted bag added just enough bling. And we thought Alexa Chung looked oh-so-very Alexa in strapless, polka dot Chanel…but perhaps a little cold?
Oh, and if Giovanna Battaglia‘s gold Kors number looks familiar, well, that’s because it is. Michelle Obama wore it to the Kennedy Center Honors in December, but we can’t say we mind seeing it a second time around.
