Is Kelly Cutrone Replacing ALT On America’s Next Top Model?
They say all good things come to an end, but we’re going to be in a seriously bad mood if Vogue contributing editor Andre Leon Talley leaves America’s Next Top Model.
Word has it that the godfather of all things fabulous will leave at the end of the show’s current season, only to be replaced by none other than public relations maven Kelly Cutrone. Cutrone, founder of the fashion PR firm People’s Revolution, certainly has the television advice and evaluation-giving thing down pat: She was more or less chaperone to Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port on MTV’s The Hills and The City.
But that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t be sad to see ALT go — he and host Tyra have some of the most hilarious on-screen interactions we’ve ever seen (who could forget his famous utterance of the end-all, be-all fashion catchphrase of 2010, dreckitude?). ALT is an institution, and his presence on the last four seasons of ANTM has really been one of the few ways his adoring fans (us included) have gotten to interact with him. Not to mention, his tenure as one of the longest-serving editors of Vogue lends the show huge dollops of fashion world credibility. Would Franca Sozzani have agreed to place the program’s winners and standouts in Vogue Italia without his involvement? We think not.
Still, the rumor mill is churning with suggestions of his departure. Losing him would be a blow, and we hope he’ll stick around for a least a few more seasons before he gets the boot.
