Androgynous Model Andrej Pejic Called A ‘Thing’ By FHM Magazine

We were pretty pumped to learn that somewhat frat-tastic men’s mag FHM had named gender-bending model Andrej Pejic the 98th sexiest woman in the world — and so, apparently, was Andrej when he told New York Magazine about it at a book party last week. Unfortunately, as outwardly sexy as FHM might have found Andrej, their write up of him was a puerile mix of barf jokes and a severely heteronormative bias.

Pejic’s page on the site has apparently disappeared (read: been taken down) but one savvy Tumblr user grabbed a screenshot. Here’s what it said:

There’s been no word from FHM about the piece or its subsequent removal. Taking it down was a step in the right direction, but addressing the issue would be even better. Was the writer reprimanded? Is FHM apologetic? Or just embarrassed? Because there’s a bit difference between the two.
