Anna Wintour Will ‘Do What She Wants’ In New Condé Nast Role
Anna Wintour may have a tony new title as artistic director of Condé Nast in addition to her seat at the helm of Vogue, but that doesn’t mean anyone is all that sure what it is she’ll be doing with it. WWD reports that the Condé editors met with the company brass on Friday and, while Wintour took the podium briefly, she wasn’t exactly forthcoming with details about her new position.
What she did reportedly say was that she would help her fellow editors with their jobs and, according to Ad Week will be going on a “listening tour” in the near future to learn more about the publisher’s other titles.
One attendee told WWD that her comments were “strangely undramatic given the magnitude of the appointment,” while another offered the hypothesis that in her new role, “she’ll do what she always does, which is what she wants to do.” Sounds about right.
