This Is What Happens When You Try To Interview Arizona Muse

We’ve heard of quirky media practices, but we’ve never actually encountered anything quite so peculiar as the way model Arizona Muse interacts with reporters. Last night at David Yurman, we found ourselves on the receiving end of the way Muse controls her image. Other journalists, bloggers and reporters, take heed: You’re gonna have to be prepared.

The conversation went a little something like this.

Styleite: Hi, Arizona. We’d love to ask you just a few quick questions!

Arizona: OK. But before you record (we were already recording) would you mind telling me what questions you’re going to ask me?

Styleite: Um (stops recording). Sure! We were going to ask you about your plans for the rest of Fashion’s Night Out, what your plans are for Fashion Week and what shows you’re walking in. Then I was going to ask about what it was like working with David Yurman and what your favorite past campaigns are. And then maybe what you like about New York. Is that OK?

Arizona: OK. Could you pick two of them so there … aren’t so many questions?

Styleite: Yeah, sure! How about your plans for FNO, the week and working with Yurman? (starts recording again).

Arizona: Great.

We’ve encountered guarded celebrities, shy celebrities, even ones who flat out refused to talk to us (cough, Terry Richardson, cough cough, Emmanuelle Alt). We’ve also had public relations people ask us ahead of time to send them sample questions so they can prep the famous people attending their events. But Muse’s method takes the cake in terms of celebrity strangeness — in fact, it’s more interesting that any of the responses she actually gave.

Ok you did it fun this time.. And it was something unexpected to be said as interview. Good one up here!

  • Annie

She’s probably annoyed by a lot of questions about her private life – you have to give her a break.

  • kelc

She probably thought that you would ask her about her relationship with Freja Beha. A lot of people seem to be interested in it, and she most likely didn’t want those questions to come up.

  • Shelly

This is probably why she will become an even bigger model. She isn’t a shy little giggly pushover. Strong women/personalities are always welcome in this industry. There is nothing wrong with any of this! I’m not even her fan but you think Naomi,Kate,Iman,Cindy,Linda let people push them around? no they called the shots and look at their legacies.

  • Me

    waell that was kinda lame.

  • Iamme

The article artfully sugarcoats rudeness and lack of class
