Glamour’s “Ask A Stylist” App Hiring On Craigslist
We were wondering how Glamour and Like.com’s “Ask A Stylist” app — which promises to deliver instant styling suggestions from professional stylists in ten minutes or less — was going work. It turns out, like the rest of us, they’ll be relying on the magic of Craigslist.
Our intrepid intern Megan was perusing the classifieds site this morning (for an actual job, presumably — don’t leave us!), when she stumbled upon this gem advertising for a Fashion Writer, location: anywhere.
Like.com is hiring stylists to answer fashion questions on our new iphone app, Ask A Stylist, a partnership with Glamour Magazine.
The app operates 24 hours a day and we are looking for people with fairly open and flexible availability, especially on weekends. Pay is $15/hr and stylists work from home. To learn more about the app, check out the coverage it received from CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/search/?query=ask%20a%20stylist&primaryType=mixed&sortBy=date&intl=false
Stylists must have a great sense of style, an extreme love of fashion, and a penchant for giving advice–as well as superior writing, grammatical and spelling skills. As this is a work from home opportunity, stylist must have their own computer and reliable access to the internet.
We are looking to fill positions immediately. To apply, please send resume and cover letter to the address above and take our styling quiz at: http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=what-to-wear (password: like123)
While we didn’t actually think these on-call stylists would work at Glamour magazine, we also didn’t necessarily expect they’d be hired off an anonymous internet classified site either.
Then again, we’ve found a job or two on Craigslist ourselves, so who are we to judge? Also, unemployed stylists: get thee to Craigslist, ASAP!
