Terry Richardson’s New Girlfriend Is A Government Employee
Terry Richardson may be the subject of no shortage of sexual harassment accusations, but according to recent news, he’s now managed to find himself an actual girlfriend. And apparently the woman he’s dating is a sort of glamorous, interesting, bright young thing who he didn’t pick up lounging outside of his studio. Which, you know, shocker.
The New York Observer reported Wednesday that Richardson brought Audrey Gelman, the press secretary for Manhattan borough president Scott Stringer, to the New York premiere of Friends With Benefits. But Gelman and Richardson don’t have the kind of casual relationship that movie celebrates — they’ve apparently been dating since springtime.
The various allegations of sexual assault and general skeeziness Richardson has racked up over the years still give us pause, but we guess you really can’t stop love. Especially if the object of Richardson’s love is as atypical a government employee as he is a fashion photographer:
She’s not the typical type-A city politico. Ms. Gelman’s an old friend of the downtown-famous Lena Dunham and has a featured spot on her forthcoming Judd Apatow-produced HBO series Girls. And let’s hope Mr. Richardson isn’t a Yankees fan: the tattoo inked on Ms. Gelman’s lower lip reads “LET’S GO METS.”
We wouldn’t bet on wedding bells, but perhaps having a main squeeze will stop Richardson from being so untoward with other women.
