Authorities May Have Found Missoni’s Plane

Authorities are continuing their search for Vittorio Missoni, who was a passenger on a small plane that went missing off of the coast of Venezuela a little over a week ago. WWD reports that the Venezuelan army radar has been able to pinpoint the possible location where the plane lost altitude on the journey from Las Roques, where the CEO of the Italian fashion house was vacationing, to Caracas.

According to the Italian embassy, the depth of the location in question is too deep to be measured by available instruments, but might be plausible coordinates for where the plane went down. Officials in both Venezuela and Italy have decided to extend the search for Missoni, who was accompanied on the plane by his wife Maurizia Castiglioni and five other people, past the customary eight day period.

Let’s hope this latest turn in a series of strange developments related to the case — including allegations of a kidnapping — leads to an end to the mystery, and some relief for the Missoni clan.
