NYFW: Here’s a Body Part Garance Doré Thinks You Should Worry About
Just when you thought all you had to work on for spring were your abs, along comes another corporeal conundrum: the heel.
Not only did Garance Doré helpfully point out the prevalence of backless shoes clomping down the runways this season, but she also drew our semi-unwilling attention to pedal presentability, a subject we do not want to deal with after trudging around in unforgiving stilettos all week.
You may also be interested to know that you can’t just pumice-stone your way to non-gnarly, mule-ready heels — no, you have to be born with them! Garance, for one, thinks hers are “way too round” (what does that even mean?!), and the girls in her studio fret over ailments such as running marks and “stegosaurus heel.” (Again — What does that even mean?!)
Until we get some solid pictorial examples of what non-embarrassing heels look like, all we know is, come spring, we’re going to wear whatever slides and slip-ons we damn well please.
