WATCH: Woman Calls 911 To Complain About Bad Manicure

Cynthia Colson of Central Florida found herself in jail on Sunday after calling 911 four separate times about a dispute over her manicure. Colson told the dispatcher she was calling to “press charges” because the nail salon “did not treat [her] well.” Um, what?

According to the news report, Colson’s initial complaint stemmed from the fact that she felt she had been charged too much for nails that were too short. She also alleged the nail technician threatened to cut her lips with the nail clippers. As for the four calls, Colson followed up on her first call to ask when an officer would arrive and then called back again to complain about the dispatch officer’s attitude. Colson claims that at least two of the calls were accidents — contrary to her initial complaint, her nails were too long for her to dial the phone properly.

After Colson continued to call 911 despite having an officer next to her, police arrested her for misuse of the emergency system. Colson, for her part, seems as confused as we are by the whole ordeal.

I can’t believe something as stupid as this is all over the news. I’ve had a mentally ill friend call 911 for various unbelievably stupid reasons, sometimes just to get attention. That’s what mentally ill people do sometimes. How it makes the news is beyond me, other than for the media to make a laughing stock out of a woman and her manicure.

it is amazing how many morons out there think of the 911 emergency service as their personal complaint hotline.

i’ve read about 911 calls about emergencies on fingernails, hamburgers, parking spaces, the wrong number of chicken fingers, store was out of an advertised special, etc.

Continuing evidence of how self-absorbed, stupid and thoughtless people can be.

perhaps there should be some sort of idiot screening before being allowed to place a 911 call ?
